Are These TFF’sTop Posts Of 2009?

Let me know what mattered most for you in terms of what was run here this past year on Truly Free Film.

Let me know what you would like to see differently next year.
I should add that I see this site as primarily about how we all get our work seen, how we earn a living from our work, and the tools & methods we can employ to make better and more rewarding work. I have not focused this on the actual content. This site is not about the art of cinema but about its manufacture and distribution, it discovery and appreciation. It’s about infrastructure. It’s about context. It’s about the how and not the what. I think…
I really appreciate all the comments you provided this year. Let’s keep the conversation going.

Not much I would change - except maybe two things:

1: Some frank talk by distributors and producers willing to work with films made under 100k - a series and/or vids of them talking about what they are willing to look at - willing to work with - and what they are not willing to look at/work with - seems to me - to be the last frontier of information that Indie Filmmakers can't get a grip on. All other aspects of of Indie Filmmaking process can be obtained in some fashion - book/web tut's etc... but the elusive distributors - like Showtime/VOD contacts - IFC etc - actual people who make the decision on what is bought - and not - now that would be some grand information to shed some light on.

2: Maybe a members only question and answer page - I say members only b/c it would keep down the spam.

I'm fairly new to the blog, but I made a decision at the beginning of the year that I would turn my back on short films and feature film aspirations simply because of no funding and no real means to get either noticed.

I've shifted to web only content. Even shot my first series over the summer. It just seems that on-line has become the easiest way to reach an audience.

This site could not have been built without the help and insight of Michael Morgenstern. My thanks go out to him.

Help save indie film and give this guy a job in web design or film!
